Andrew is a playwright, sketch writer, and stand-up comedian. He recently completed his doctoral thesis on Shakespeare and his contemporaries at Oxford University, where he was also a part-time lecturer.

His plays for the stage include: Ascension (1998), The Fire-Breathers (1999), Another Lovelace (1999), Redwoman (1999), Cockfight (2002), The Half Light (2004), and The Hidden Winter (2005).

His short play War on Muckle Roe (“a twenty-first century Dad’s Army” – The Herald) was staged recently by 7:84 at the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh, as part of a collection of twelve new short plays in response to the global war on terror. Other contributors included David Grieg and Naomi Wallace

As a stand-up comedian, Andrew has appeared at The Stand Comedy Club (Edinburgh), Downstairs at the King’s Head (London), the Ginglik (London), the Canal Café Theatre (London), and the Gilded Balloon (Edinburgh Fringe Festival).

His sketch show Pop Tarts (co-written with James Harris) enjoyed a total sell-out run at the Pleasance Courtyard during the 2003 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He has also written for NewsRevue, the political satire show that holds the Guinness World Record for the Longest Running Live Comedy Show.
